Danielle graduated in 1983 from Brandon Valley High
School. As a basketball and track and field standout, Danni lettered in both sports all four years of high school. On the court, she helped lead the team into the Eastern South Dakota Conference where she was an Honorable Mention choice as a sophomore and an All-Conference pick her final two years. As the team Most Valuable Player for three years, she ended her Lynx career as the school's all-time leading scorer and rebounder. She gathered first-team All-State and South Dakota All-Star game selections as a senior. On the track and field team, Danni was a standout thrower, but was versatile enough to also be an accomplished sprinter. She won the 1993 State AA Discus title on her way to the all class Gold Medal in that event. After graduation from BVHS, she attended Dakota State University on a basketball/track and field scholarship and also played softball for the Lady Trojans. While at DSU she was an All-Conference selection in basketball and was on a Conference Champion track and field team. She finished in the top ten in career points, rebounds, steals, blocked shots, field goal percentage and free throw percentage. She also established the school's shot put record during her senior season. |
